It'll do.

Another good day.
  • Balance Bare bar
  • cup or so of grapes
  • banana
  • beef-a-roni (leftover from the other night)
  • side salad (not huge)
  • handful pecans and walnuts
  • half a banana (I end up finishing Zach's quite often)
  • small handful of banana chips (dried banana)
  • bowl of ribollita-like soup (Jane will have to post the details!) over a hunk of bread
  • side salad with some sort of very light dressing
Breakfast was light today since I got up a little late. But I have an excuse! Insomnia. Woke up at 3:45 (thanks to a child) and just couldn't go back to sleep until around 6am. *sigh* No workout today...hitting it again tomorrow, though. Five days in a row is enough anyway. Might get six starting tomorrow, but have a weekend plus a couple days off after that.

Ribollita refers to a Tuscan peasant soup served over stale (or in this case toasted...I would NEVER serve stale ingredients to the Barnes') bread.
Includes: great northern beans, garlic, carrots, celery, potatotes, kale, savoy cabbage (who knew?), swiss chard, onion, sage, olive oil, crushed tomatoes. I added chicken broth and chicken, there were carnivores present!
Yummy if I do say so myself. Modified Williams Sonoma recipe.

Well, we didn't have ribollita, but Jane's adaptation for us meat eaters was very good indeed!

Next time, in order to preserve the name "ribollita", I will leave the meat out for you Donnie!
